Domenech appeals ban

France coach Raymond Domenech has appealed against his one-match suspension imposed by UEFA earlier this week for a breach of UEFA's disciplinary regulations.

Fine and ban
Domenech was handed a one-match touchline ban by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body for his side's UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifier against Italy on 8 September, as well as being fined CHF10,000 (€6,000), for bringing football into disrepute. The decision was made following remarks made in an interview to the French newspaper Le Parisien.

Wednesday hearing
UEFA's Appeals Body will examine the appeal next Wednesday, 5 September in Nyon, Switzerland at 13.00 CET, and Domenech has been summoned to appear before the body.
